The A6 combines 5G RedCap connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and a 3.4-inch touchscreen with voice interaction built on iFlytek’s Spark large model.
BEIJING, Oct. 27, 2026 — Flymodem, the portable connectivity brand of Beijing Zhongyuan Yishang Technology Co., Ltd., has introduced the Flymodem A6, an AI portable Wi-Fi device developed in cooperation with iFlytek and built around its Spark large model. Presale opened in China on Oct. 27.
The A6 marks a shift in the category’s center of gravity. Earlier AI Wi-Fi products from Flymodem applied models to meeting transcription and note generation; the A6 makes voice conversation the primary interface, with a touchscreen and a wake word replacing the app-menu workflow that portable Wi-Fi devices have relied on.
Hardware: 5G RedCap, Wi-Fi 6, and a display that stays on
The A6 runs on 5G RedCap, the lightweight branch of 5G that reduces device complexity and power draw while retaining 5G network capability. It supports Wi-Fi 6, with a theoretical maximum of 286.8 Mbps on the Wi-Fi chip — enough for phones, tablets and laptops to share one connection. Activation is handled through the Flymodem companion app.

The form factor departs from the pocket dongle. The body measures 82.6 × 84 × 59.4 mm and weighs 246 g, sitting on a rechargeable dock for use on a car console, a desk or a shelf. The 3.4-inch color display runs at 540 × 540 and serves as both interaction surface and ambient information panel. The unit carries no internal battery and draws power externally.
Before release, the device was tested for sustained connectivity, high- and low-temperature operation, stress with multiple connected devices and extended video playback, repeated adapter plugging and overall durability.
Spark as the interaction layer
The voice stack is built on iFlytek’s Spark large model, extending a collaboration that began on Flymodem’s AI Wi-Fi line; the M8 Pro, which integrates iFlytek model capabilities, received an industry benchmark award at iFlytek’s 1024 Developer Conference.
In the A6, the model is applied to the three questions portable Wi-Fi users ask most: data balance, network switching and signal quality. Users can request plan details, remaining data and validity; switch carriers by name and hear the process and result announced; and receive signal readings in three grades. The wake word — customizable, with two additional slots — works from any screen, and the device returns to the previous screen once a conversation ends.

A companion layer, built into the hardware
Six built-in personas support two conversation modes: turn-taking for orderly exchange, and open interjection, which lets several people join a discussion at once. During dialogue, 25 animated expressions on the display respond to content in real time. Users can create custom personas and apply voice cloning so a character speaks in a chosen voice, with two further wake words.

The same hardware carries a Bluetooth speaker with voice-controlled playback and hands-free calling — answering, dialing by contact name, call waiting and voice redial — while the phone retains exclusive use of its own microphone and speaker during a call. Schedules are created by voice and synced bidirectionally between device and app; the display also supports a digital photo frame mode and a smart wallpaper that surfaces location, weather and recent schedule items.
Flymodem said the A6 is its first step from portable Wi-Fi toward AI terminals, and a major step in the expansion of its product line and its internationalization. Overseas availability is now in preparation, with network certification and language coverage to be adapted market by market; launch timing and pricing will be announced in due course.
